SOFI TUKKER’s success was anything but planned. The band’s very existence happened haphazardly after Sophie Hawley-Weld met Tucker Halpern during an art show at Brown University, where they both happened to be performing. It only took a couple of months before the NYC-based duo penned their viral track “Drinkee,” which has since racked up over 40 million Spotify streams and received a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording. The song was the first they ever wrote, and became the backbone of their wildly successful EP, Soft Animals. It also took them around the world, with their high-energy live show packing venues on five continents and lighting up prestigious festivals such as Coachella and Lollapalooza. In late 2017 the band scored their biggest Apple ad to date, when the company chose their unreleased track “Best Friend” to soundtrack the launch of their flagship iPhone X. The heat generated from the ad launched the song at radio worldwide; It is now steadily propelling up the US Pop and Alternative Radio charts and is perched in the upper echelons of the iTunes Singles and Shazam charts across the globe. Having already gotten as close to cultural world domination as a young act can get, SOFI TUKKER’s future is looking brighter than ever. Sofi Tukker has partnered with PLUS1 so that $1 from every ticket sold on their US dates will go to support Planned Parenthood and their work delivering vital reproductive health care, sex education, and information to millions of women, men, and young people in the US and worldwide (www.plannedparenthood.org). In Canada, the dollar will go to Action Canada for Sexual Health and Rights and their work advancing and upholding sexual and reproductive health and rights in Canada and worldwide (www.actioncanadashr.org).WEBSITE FACEBOOK SOUNDCLOUD TWITTER INSTAGRAM
Kah-Lo is the Nigerian-born rising star, who has enjoyed an incredible 2016 with a chart-topping hit with 'Rinse & Repeat' her infectious collaboration with London-based producer Riton. The phenomenal success of 'Rinse & Repeat' included being named one of the Top 10 most played songs on BBC Radio 1 for 2016, selling 400,000 copies in the UK and 35 million streams & counting on Spotify and a coveted Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording at this year's award ceremony - a testament to its enduring appeal as one of the most influential and unique club tracks of recent times, setting in motion the foundations in Kah-Lo’s burgeoning super-stardom. Music has played a huge part in Kah-Lo’s life. Born Faridah Demola-Seriki, as a child her father and uncle would play various 80s & 90s Pop and Hip-Hop records around her home in Lagos, Nigeria. Artists such as Slick Rick, M.I.A, Rihanna, Madonna and Kanye West have all influenced her musical direction as well as her unique sense of style, topped off with her long flowing signature green hair. Beginning her musical journey straight out of university after making the brave decision to move from Nigeria to the USA, the now 24-year- old decided it was all or nothing and started taking crucial steps into the development of her fearless brand. Kah-Lo soon began performing in bars and coffee shops across New York City – perfecting her craft whilst also uploading random tracks to her Soundcloud page. Fast-forward to 2018 and Kah-Lo is looking ahead to a festival filled summer at Pukkelpop, Reading & Leeds Festival and SW4. In this time, Kah-Lo also released her debut solo single ‘Fasta’ followed by 'Fake ID' which arguably continue much of the success earned with ‘Rinse & Repeat’, collectively earning BBC Radio 1’s hottest specialist record of the year, ‘Hottest Record in the World’ by Annie Mac, ‘Tune of the Week’ by Clara Amfo and ‘Jam Hot’ & ‘Track of the Week’ by MistaJam. ‘Fasta’ also enjoyed a record five weeks at number one on the BBC Radio 1 Dance Chart and earned praise from the likes of Calvin Harris, Jax Jones, Martin Solveig, Faithless and many more key industry tastemakers. Kah-Lo’s undeniable impact has also been felt in Australia, where ‘Fasta’ became one of the year’s hottest records on triplej radio, where it was added to full rotation almost immediately and went on to become one of their most played songs of 2017. Currently putting the final touches to a full-length release with Riton, Kah-Lo looks set to dominate throughout 2018, too!
LP Giobbi is Rock N Roll with a Disco Soul born draped in sequins cloaked in fog at a seance in the mountains of Oregon. She was trained in jazz piano at UC Berkeley before becoming a synth warrior goddess in Los Angeles. She uses her combined knowledge of music theory and sign wave creation to reach the enlightenment afforded by a clusterfuck of inclusivity. Her weapons are charisma, spunk, fearlessness, DJ decks, blacks and whites, DAW systems, fields of sci-fi synthesizers, sequins, feathers and leopard print. And she is not afraid to use them. Find her deejaying and booking shows at the W Hotel Los Angeles as their Music Curator (where she recently opened up for the Billboard's Next Big Sound showcase featuring Gallant), playing synth bass and deejaying for Madame Gandhi, opening up for Sofi Tukker on their European and North American tour, where she throws down her self produced Afro-Cuban infused Piano House tracks, producing, engineering, synthesizing and Music Directing for LJ Laboratory (currently getting ready to release their first full length: Analogue Interference) and playing jazz gigs wherever a piano lives. LP Giobbi is getting ready to release her first few tracks co-produced by Sofi Tukker April 2018 while opening up for them on their US tour where she gets to add the Korg M1 Piano to her deejay sets.
